About Resize Image
Resize Image changes image dimensions — either to a specific target width (height auto-calculated from aspect ratio) or by a percentage of the original. The tool uses high-quality bilinear resampling to preserve visual quality even at significant size reductions.
Resizing runs in your browser; images are never uploaded.

When to use Resize Image
Preparing profile photos

Shrinking phone photos before sharing
Modern phones take 12-24 MP photos. For messaging or social sharing, 1080-pixel wide is plenty.
Matching website layout requirements
A blog post template might require 1200×630 hero images. Resize to spec.
Frequently asked questions
Does resizing preserve aspect ratio?
Yes — both modes preserve original aspect ratio. Setting width auto-calculates height.
Can I enlarge images?
Yes, but results will be blurry — upsampling cannot invent detail that was never captured. Avoid enlarging more than 2x for acceptable quality.
What format is the output?
The same format as the input (JPG stays JPG, PNG stays PNG). To convert formats, use Convert Image after resizing.
