About Convert Image
Convert Image switches image formats — JPG, PNG, and WebP — to match what your target platform expects. JPG is universally supported with small files (lossy). PNG is lossless and supports transparency. WebP is modern, efficient, and 25-35% smaller than JPG at similar quality.
All conversions happen in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

When to use Convert Image
Converting HEIC-exported photos for compatibility
HEIC (iPhone default) does not work everywhere. Convert exports to JPG for universal compatibility.
Switching to WebP for faster websites
WebP loads faster than JPG and PNG for equivalent quality. Modernize your images one batch at a time.
Turning lossy JPGs into lossless PNGs for editing
If you need to edit a JPG and prevent further quality loss, convert to PNG first, edit, and save as PNG.
Frequently asked questions
Will converting JPG to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG is lossless, but the JPG data is already lossy — you cannot recover detail that was discarded during original compression. Converting to PNG just prevents further quality loss.
Is WebP supported everywhere?
Every modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari 14+, Edge) supports WebP. Older software may not — fall back to JPG if universal compatibility is needed.
Can I convert from GIF or HEIC?
Not currently — only JPG, PNG, WebP are supported in both directions. GIF/HEIC support is on the roadmap.
